The Fishing Collective is Live

There’s probably a more organised way to start a clothing brand. This wasn’t it.

The Fishing Collective started with fishing trips. A bunch of mates getting away for a few days, chasing fish, talking shit, eating too late and collecting the kind of stories that somehow get better every time they’re retold.

Somewhere along the way we started making a bit of gear for ourselves. Then people started asking where they could get it so here we are.

The Founders Drop ’26

Our first proper collection is now live.

We’ve kept it deliberately small – four tees and four performance caps, designed here in New Zealand and made for the sort of days we actually wear them.

The tees are printed locally on quality AS Colour blanks. No weird offshore sizing, no paper-thin fabric. Just good shirts that fit properly and hold their shape.

The performance caps are built for being on the water – lightweight, quick-drying, water-resistant and ventilated so they don’t end up looking destroyed after one hot day chasing fish.

This isn’t about trying to make another massive fishing brand. It’s about making gear we’d actually wear ourselves.

Small runs. On purpose.

The first drop is limited, partly because we’re starting small, but mostly because we like the idea of keeping things moving. Different designs, different trips, different stories.

Some will come back. Some probably won’t. That’s part of it.
